Early Breed Success in the USA

In the early days of the breed when type was very mixed they were regarded as something of a joke in the world of dogs, but gradually judges came to appreciate them and to reward them at group level. Some of the best judges did much to encourage breeders, such as Leo Wilson in the UK.

Here's an early group win for the breed in the USA, awarded by Alva Rosenberg. The dog is Barbara Fallass' famous UK import Spring Robin, handled by her kennel manageress Mrs Blakeley. The show was at Ox Ridge, CT, 1942.
