You Don't See Many Corgis Now?

"You don't see many Corgis now" are the
usual words that greet,
Or "My nan/aunt used to have one" from
the strangers in the street.

"Well Hello, Your Majesty!" is another
common jest,
Or "What sort of doggy mix is it?" a collie
cross most guess.

No, you don't see many corgis now, which
is really quite a shame,
But though they were most common once,
no two would be the same.

My Pembroke girl loves all the fuss and
with tail gives a regal wave,
For she knows that with her kind brown
eyes, I'll always be her slave!
